【Excellent Condition】 Tokoname Ware Master Unsen Crafted Nerikomi Tea Ceremony Set

This is a tea ceremony set (1 teapot, 5 teacups) by Unsen, a master craftsman of Tokoname ware, a traditional craft from Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture.

It was found in a closet during a house clearance.

It is unused, and unlike the typical reddish-brown of Tokoname ware, it features a sophisticated and beautiful marbled pattern, which is why I am listing it.

The Unsen signature is on the box and the sticker on the cups.
It is a complete set, including the original wooden box (tomobako) and a booklet (shiori).

【Quoted Description】
Unsen is a highly renowned artist for his Nerikomi technique in Tokoname ware.
Unsen's creations are made using the traditional Nerikomi technique, where clays of different colors such as red, green, and white are intricately kneaded together to form beautiful layers, resulting in unique and exquisite marbled patterns.

Tokoname ware teapots are known for their ability to mellow the astringency of tea by reacting with tannins, allowing for delicious brewing.

As this is an antique item, please refrain from returns, complaints, or price reductions.

Please note that we do not sell items separately.

Thank you for viewing.
